Two Target Men Named

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 08/09/2006

THE club have released the names of two target men Graham Rodger is talking to. Rodger is hoping to get these two players to Blundell Park.

Richie Humphreys from Hartlepool, who Mariners Net says, was an early target of Rodgers. The other player is former Sheffield United striker Carl Asaba.

Graham Rodger told Mariners Net; "I am always interested in quality players and these two are."

Richie Humphreys

Squad Number: 8
Position: Forward
Place of Birth: Sheffield
Date Of Birth: 30/ 11/ 1977
Height: 5'11
Weight: 14st 6lbs

  • Last season's Player and Players' Player of the Year, Ritchie arrived at Victoria Park in the summer of 2000 looking to rebuild his career after a broken leg suffered whilst playing for Cambridge United. He has played the majority of his games wide on the left for Pools, though last season he played the vast amount of games in a new left-back role, where he earned rave reviews.

  • Ritchie has been an ever-present in the League for Pools since his arrival at the Club and notched up his 250th consecutive game in the game against Gillingham at The Vic at the beginning of November 2005.

  • He's a player who can always be counted on for giving everything in every game and although he loves nothing more than finding the net, he is always likely to provide chances for others too, whether it be from his midfield berth or at left back.

    Carl Asaba

    Date of Birth: 1973-01-28
    Place of Birth: Westminster, England
    Height: 6'1 ft
    Weight: 13st 7lbs
