Chester Preview

TOWN travel to Chester this weekend on the back of a six game unbeaten spell - but meet last seasons Conference champions in equally fine form, with Ian Rush's men unbeaten in eight games.

Swansea, Rushden, Cheltenham, Sheffield Wednesday, Lincoln, Cambridge, Scunthorpe and Macclesfield have all failed to inflict defeat upon the reign of Ian Rush. Can the Mariners be the first? Town themselves are in decent form, and will hope to continue their rejuvenated form on the road with victory at the Deva Stadium.
Russell Slade has one or two decisions to make on his side to face the Blues, with Jason Crowe picking up an injury at the end of the game at Shrewsbury on Tuesday. This could mean a first league start since the opening day for Ronnie Bull. Meanwhile, Club captain John McDermott also has a slight hamstring strain - but is more likely to play than Crowe. However, should "Macca" fail to make it - Clint Marcelle will deputise after playing right wing back the past few weeks for the reserves.
Slade will also have to decide whether to opt for the creative flair of Thomas Pinault in midfield or stick with Stacy Coldicott to toughen up the midfield.
Meanwhile, for Chester, ex Mariner Daryl Clare could be involved for the first time since August after being sidelined the past few months with a hernia injury. Clare played and scored for the reserves on Wednesday and will be hoping for a place on the bench, at the least. It will be the first time Clare has played against Town since his departure in 2001 - when he has gone of to score a massive 72 goals in just under 100 games for both Boston and Chester.
Elsewhere - Ian Rush will assess the fitness of number one keeper Wayne Brown after he was injured in the warm up to the game with Rushden this last week. Rookie keeper Chris MacKenzie will deputise, but if Brown's injury is serious, Rush may look to bring in a keeper on loan.
Predicted Town Team: - Williams, Whittle, Forbes, Gordon, McDermott, Bull, Pinault, Fleming, Parkinson, Reddy, Sestanovich. Subs - Jones, Marcelle, Cramb, Coldicott, Downey
Fishy prediction - Both teams to continue their unbeaten runs after a 0-0 draw.
