GTFC Press Conference To Announce Stadium Sponsor

GRIMSBY Town Football Club have called a press conference this afternoon to announce details of the new stadium sponsorship and will announce the Official New Stadium Sponsor.

There has been a great deal of speculation regarding this major sponsor and presently the favourite name being bandied about is that of Conoco. However until any official announcement is made it should be treated as pure speculation.

Heinz and Coca Cola where also in the frame when the stadium move was first announced.

What is known is that some commitments were made many months ago and it was stated by the club recently that they were in talks with potential sponsors to determine if their interest was still there after the numerous delays due to the planning permission problems and the public inquiry.

It would be silly therefore to discount any candidates.

What is known however is that the club did all the work themselves in gaining the sponsors without using the services of outside consultants. That is commendable as securing major sponsors is not an easy task.
