"Today's visitors are like some people we all know.You keep bumping into them wherever you go.Over the last dozen years, we've met them everywhere from the old Fourth Division right up to today's Division One match - with an Auto Windscreens Shield clash thrown in as well.

"But then Grimsby's excellent Electronic Fishcake website shows we've been playing each other right back since the 1897-1898 season when we first met in what nowadays would be Nationwide Division One.

"Like us they've had their highs and lows since then.......Their achievement is all the more creditable because,it would be fair to say, that their support has to make up in commitment for what it lacks in size....it would be a shame if this division did not have space for sides like Grimsby whose football is pretty much universally admired and who make it despite the odds".
