MIDFIELDER Andy Monkhouse has joined Grimsby in a one year deal. The 34-year-old former Bristol Rovers midfielder is a familiar face to Town as he last played for the Pirates in the team that beat the Mariners on penalties.

Monkhouse played 42 times for Rovers last season, and his career his mainly been spent at Hartlepool and Rotherham, with just a short spell at Swindon. Monkhouse can either play on the wing or up front.

Monkhouse is Town’s third summer signing following Danny East and Omar Bogle.
