Mariners' Trust to Launch Campaign

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 25/05/2015

THE Mariners' Trust organisation is shortly to launch a new campaign called #OperationPromotion, the aim of which is a series of initiatives to help the club go the extra mile during the forthcoming season in the newly named National League.

Grimsby have reached the play-offs for the last three seasons and failed at the last possible hurdle last weekend when they lost on penalties at Wembley, with around 13,000 Grimsby fans there in a record attendance at a non-league game.

Since then there has been a tremendous outpouring of goodwill and support towards the football club, and it looks like this summer could see a significant increase in Season Ticket sales as supporters flock to back the club next season.

The next few years could be an interesting time for Grimsby with hopefully a return to the Football League not long away, as well as the new stadium initiative which is likely to progress during that time.

The Supporters' Trust is not revealing the details of the initiatives for a few days until the details have been ironed out but they are likely to see opportunities for both local and exiled supporters to help the club over the course of the next 12 months.

Meanwhile the Trust, one of the largest shareholders in Grimsby Town, has seen a boost in membership since Wembley and has now nearly 1000 members. It costs just £15 a year to join. The statement and joining details can be found at www.marinerstrust.co.uk

Get on board and help secure the long-term future of Grimsby Town FC.
