Grimsby v Barrow Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 11/10/2011

TOWN are not expected to make many changes for the midweek game with Barrow at Blundell Park. There are no serious injuries, although Craig Disley is a slight worry with an ankle problem which is expected to heal in time.

The managers made two changes for the trip to Mansfield on Saturday which they lost 2-1. Rob Eagle came in for Serge Makofo, and Pearson was dropped in favour of Garner. Both decisions were controversial as they meant changing a winning line-up for one that ultimately lost, so the bosses may reconsider in these areas.

Left back Jamie Green (hamstring) is still injured and will not be involved.

Town's biggest problems are set pieces. They are not scoring from them, or even looking very dangerous, and they are also conceding from them with a worrying frequency.

Barrow sit just above Town in the table, and have both scored and conceded in nearly every game so far this season (their 14 games so far have yielded a total of 46 goals). Top scorer Adam Boyes, who was once on the books of Scunthorpe but never played for the Iron, has managed 10 goals in 14 games so far this season.

Midfielder Paul Smith (ankle) is a doubt, and striker Andy Cook is banned for the Cumbrians.
