Crowe Ponders Future

By: Mariners Net
Date: 27/04/2005

JASON Crowe has been offered a new deal to stay with the Mariners, but the former Arsenal and Portsmouth defender needs a bit of time to finalise the deal reports Mariners Net.

Crowe told the official site; "I've spoken to the gaffer about myself, there's a contract there for me but I just need to finalise a few things first. We should know that within a couple of weeks."

Crowe says that he is settled in the Grimsby area. "I'm settled here, my wife and myself are settled here in the area, but I am an ambitious person, I want to go places and hopefully Grimsby will be ambitious too."

"I think maybe it has been a stepping stone for the manager and the players this year , and we need to build upon the squad that we've got. We need to start again next season."

"When the manager took over he only had four players to begin with, so he's had to work hard . He's brought in a lot of new faces."

"Early season I was getting in some good positions. I think I could have had double figures this season, I have got into some fantastic positions. I've still got four goals this season and I'm quite pleased with that."

Asked if he was happy with the season from a personal point of view."I'm happy with it. I started off on the left wing - up and down, up and down and playing here, there and everywhere."

"My favourite position is right back but I love getting forward and creating chances for other players"
