Simpson To Sign?

FORMER Wycombe midfielder Michael Simpson, who was released by Wanderers manager Tony Adams after relegation from Division Two last season, is believed to be close to a move to Blundell Park.

The Grimsby Telegraph said that he has attracted interest from other clubs, including Bristol Rovers and Leyton Orient and he is reported to have met with Russell Slade last week. Simpson was at Notts County when Slade was in charge of the youth team and that may help. "I know him well. Grimsby are an ambitious club. It wasn't long ago they were in the first division and I think it could be a good move for me." Simpson said
