| Jason Lee | 1997-98 | 3 (5) | 2 goals |
Yes, the 'Pineapple head' really did play for the Mariners back in 1997. Known as 'Pineapple head' for his tropically disastrous hair-do, Lee was quite a useful player, actually Town could do with him now with his height a huge advantage in his game.
So, this may not surprise you that Lee was not signed by Alan Buckley because he exceeded the 5ft 4 height barrier set by Buckley for anyone who wanted to play for Town. In his handful of games for Grimsby under Kenny Swain, Lee scored 2 goals making him one of Town's top scorers that season! Since that spell he has played for anyone and everyone including Forest, Watford, Chesterfield and now Peterborough.
This site is by the fans, for the fans, and we will consider articles on any subject relating to the Mariners whether it be related to current news, a nostalgic look back in the past, a story about a player, a game or games in the past, something about Blundell Park or football in general.
