Beat the Bookies: Week 38

ONLY an injury time equaliser by Rochdale denied Beat the Bookies a double this week. Still at least Lincoln's win at Morecambe ensured it was another profitable weekend, and that our tips have been profitable for three years out of three.

This weekend Town absolutely nobody has anything to play for in the entire division. So expect a few understrength sides, experimental formations and above all shock results.
The biggest shock of all would be a Grimsby win at Hereford. Hereford have reduced ticket prices to try and get a full house for a promotion party at Edgar Street. Can Grimsby be party poopers? We have absolutely no form and frankly the 9/2 on offer for an away win is not generous enough. In fact 8/13 for a home win looks good value for an odds on bet. Town did manage a draw at Shrewsbury in a similar game last season, and were even winning at one stage.
Four away win upsets spring out of the coupon this week. Accrington Stanley v Bury, Chester v Macclesfield, Chesterfield v Notts County and Rotherham v Barnet. The first three are local derbies and the away sides often tend to player better than one might expect. Macclesfield at 15/8 in particular have had a good run of late, whereas Chester seem to have been woeful all season and have been lucky to survive. Barnet have won their last two, and Rotherham the last three, but the Millers wins have been against poor sides (us included), so Barnet get the selection at 11/4.
