Knut Anders Fostervold2000-20019 (1)0 goals

Knut Anders Fostervold

Norwegian defender who can best be described as one of Lennie Lawrence's foreign imports. Capable of playing centre-back, left-back or left wing-back apparently. Played most of his stuff at left-back for Town during a loan spell from Molde.

A very physical presence which impressed at first but that’s as far as impressed goes. Sluggish with or without the ball and clumsy in possession, which was to be expected. Personally he looked no better than the left-back’s who were currently at the club (Tony Gallimore and Ben Chapman) and I don’t imagine too many tears were shed upon the news a permanent move fell through.

Update by Jostein Jensen

Fostervold retired after the 2002 season due to the knee problems in each foot, something he suffered from during his time in Grimsby. He played for nine seasons with Molde.

He has now completed his studies at university level in Molde. He got a doctor's degree scholarship, meaning he will be a research worker in several years.

In the winter of 2002-03 he had a project finding out why there was so little support around Molde FK. He was critical and there was a lot written in the papers.

This spring he became the Chairman for the Norwegian player organization NISO. He had earlier been vice Chairman.

He have also been a local politician in Molde for several years and knows the prime minister Kjell Magne Bondevik as they both work for KRF. Bondevik is from the same town and they both support the same team.
