Midfielders Join Town

GRIMSBY have made two deadline-day signings in midfield, both on season-long loans. Midfielder Mark Shelton joins Town from York City, and Fin Cartwright joins from Middlesbrough.
29-year-old Shelton is very experienced, having made 299 senior appearances mainly at National League and League Two levels. He joined York from Barnet in May, but is yet to feature this season. The midfielder was an almost ever-present for Barnet last season, playing in 40 out of 46 league games. Shelton has not played for York since joining, but has been an unused substitute.
19-year-old Fin Cartwright is at the other end of the spectrum, having made just one appearance for Boro, whom he joined aged 6. He has also represented England at youth level.
