GRIMSBY head to Bury hoping that their victory in the Checkatrade Trophy will inspire the Mariners to their first league win for five games. The Mariners though are are without Paul Dixon and Wes Thomas as they both serve the final games of their bans.

Loan winger Ben Pringle is available to make his debut but fellow loanee Elliot Embleton is on international duty with England Under-20s. Defender Danny Collins (arm) and striker Harry Cardwell are still unavailable.

For Bury, captain Neil Danns is on international duty with Guyana Manager, but central defender Will Aimson returns after a suspension.

Grimsby and Bury have not crossed paths for over eight years but Town have won on their last two visits to Gigg Lane.
