Town Make First Signing

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 08/06/2016

GRIMSBY have made their first new signing since their return to the Football League. Fleetwood Town full back Danny Andrew has joined the Mariners in a one-year deal. Andrew was released by Fleetwood in the summer and has swapped the Cod Army for Harry the Haddock.

The 25-year-old is left-sided so normally plays at left back, although he has spent time as a central midfielder. ANdrew has spent his career in the lower reaches of the Football League with a few loan spells in the Conference. His longest spell was at Cheltenham where Andrew clocked up over 50 appearances.

Town now have six players on their books. Josh Gowling, Shaun Pearson, and striker Omar Bogle were already under contract and 'keeper James McKeown and skipper Craig Disley have both signed new deals in the last week.
