Town Skipper Signs Deal

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 26/05/2015

GRIMSBY skipper Craig Disley has become the first player to sign a new deal for next season. The 33-year-old has signed a one year contract which will see him at Blundell Park for a fifth successive season.

Disley expects most of his former colleagues to join him at Blundell Park next season. "It's imperative for us to keep as many as we can – I'm not deluded in thinking that everyone will stay; there maybe will be one or two who do move on", Disley told the Grimsby Telegraph.

Town have offered new contracts to 12 players from last season. Goalkeeper James McKeown is the only senior professional who was under contract from last year.

Disley's signature is a key signing because it might help players who are undecided whether to re-sign commit themselves to the cause for another season.
