Grimsby v Dartford Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 05/10/2012

DEREK Niven is expected to return in central midfield for Grimsby as they take on surprise outfit Dartford at Blundell Park on Saturday. Niven was suspended for the goalless game at Newport on Saturday after picking up a one game ban.

Another possible starter for Grimsby is striker Greg Pearson who is available again after three weeks out with a knee injury. Pearson and Elding both will be pushing for a starting place, although the managers may well stick with the Hannah-Cook partnership that has performed reasonably well since Hannah's arrival on loan.

On man who won't be featuring until at least March is Liam Hearn, who now has a date for his prospective recovery from an Achilles tear injury.

The Darts were expected to feature at the other end of the table but have surprised everyone outside of Kent with seven wins from their opening 12 league games, which sees them current one place above Town in fifth place. Darts boss Tony Burman was recognised with the Manager of the Month award for September after the Kent side collected 16 points from a possible 21.

Dartford have shown they can get results against the more fancied teams in this division already. The Darts beat Hereford and Newport, and drew at Wrexham, although they lost to Mansfield and Gateshead.

First 'keeper Louis Wells is close to being fully fit and made the bench at the weekend, so could start, but defender Adam Green still out injured.
