Beat the Bookies: Week 2

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 19/08/2011

LAST Week we had two winners and three losers with an overall profit of 6 quid. AFC Wimbledon's win at Dagenham was the biggest winner. Newcastle almost beat Arsenal (well they had an extra man anyway and it ended a draw). So all in all not a bad start.

Home > 2011-2012 Season > Beat the Bookies > Week 2

Premier League Tip

Bolton v Man City - home win (5.0, Victor Chandler). Both teams had good wins last week against the so-called minnows. 4/1 though seems a very long price for a Bolton side who looked very clinical last week against inconsistent City.

Championship Tip

Reading v Barnsley - away win (6.5, Victor Chandler). Barnsley have yet to win this season but they've generally played the top sides. Reading were lucky to get a draw with Millwall in their last game and they look more vulnerable at the back this season. 11/2 is a cracking price!

League One Tip

Charlton v Scunthorpe - home win (1.8, Victor Chandler). Poor old Scunny are yet to get a league win this season. Charlton have a 100% record. There can be only one result.

League Two Tip

Port Vale v Accrington - away win (4.0, Stan James). Neither side has done especially well this season but Stanley have managed 4 points against the better sides and they beat Bradford in midweek. 3/1 looks good value.

Blue Square Premier Tip

Newport v Grimsby - home win (2.0, Bet365). After Town's last two performances the chance to double your money with what looks like a comfortable win for the Welsh side is to good to turn down.

Previous Fixed Odds Bets (1 or 2 bets, around £10 per week each of Rob's own money)
