Histon Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/01/2011

INJURIES and suspensions from now on in will play a massive part in the next few weeks of the season. Town are scheduled to play nine games in January - weather permitting, and possibly more if they draw against Chastetown in the FA Trophy and a replay has to be squeezed in.

Next up is Histon. The Mariners are fortunate not to have any injuries for the trip to East Anglia and it's almost unimaginable that Neil Woods will make any changes to a side which has just won 7-2.

Histon are forced to make one change. Midfielder Erkan Okay was sent off for violent conduct in the New Year's Day derby with Cambridge, which means Jamie Stevenson will probably start in his place.

Other than that the struggling side on the outskirts of Cambridge have no new injuries.

Town should not take Histon lightly. They may be a small side and near the bottom of the table but they came very close to winning in the game at Blundell Park earlier in the season.

Histon is the first of four consecutive away games for Grimsby after three matches on the spin at Blundell Park. Town's last away game was in mid-November when they won 3-0 at Hayes.
