Beat the Bookies: Week 15

LAST week saw one out of three tips win, thanks in large part to the two sendings off at Blackpool meaning West Brom had no chance of winning there. Altringham did though beat Hayes (2/1) though which all in all mean a par week.

This week the Mariners are not playing, nor indeed are there hardly any BSP league games, and no L2 games at all, so we must focus our attention on the PL and the FAC.

Blackpool v EVERTON (1.83, Sky Bet) - Blackpool were given 3 points on a plate on Monday night and even then they wobbled. They are always a good bet to lose at home, and Everton are on fire by their standards at the moment as well.

LIVERPOOL (3.4, Bet365) v Chelsea - Chelsea are going through a rare dip and Liverpool slowly starting to improve. This is a massive game for the red half of Liverpool and they've also got the advantage that Chelsea played in Europe during midweek. Go for the Reds.

SUNDERLAND (2.15, Blue Square) v Stoke - Stoke have lost their last four and they are also rubbish away from home. Sunderland's recent form is hardly glowing either but they are traditionally dominant in front of their own supporters, and should pick up all three points.

Gillingham v DOVER (7, Boylesports). The draw couldn't have been kinder to Dover, as they face their former manager, Andy Hessenthaler's side, in the First Round. Hessenthaler headed up to Priestfield in the summer, leaving a bad taste in the mouths of many Athletic fans. Now they have the perfect opportunity to get one up on the former midfielder, plus of course the massive amount of local pride at stake being a Kent derby. Dover's recent from is good, so expect a good showing from the boys from Crabble.

BARNET (5, Bet365) v Charlton. Charlton have a terrible record against lowly sides in the cup, and Barnet have caused a few upsets in their time at Underhill.

Rochdale v FC UNITED MANCHESTER (11, Bet365) . It's arguable which of the sides is the bigger club on tonight's televised game. I know nothing about the FC United side other than their history, but Dale are struggling this season, and 10/1 just is too tempting!
