Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

We are Town!
We are Town!

Lightning Can Strike Twice!

DUE to the success of my rally call last week against Boston match, where Town put in an excellent performance and our fans were magnificent, the Fishcake have entrusted me to write another call of support for this Saturday’s match against Bristol, hoping that lightning can strike twice.

The Mariners this weekend entertain a Bristol side who are to be a stronger opposition than last week's Boston United. However on the back of 6-0 hammering of Boston at York Street the Mariners should be full of confidence and not scared of anybody in their bid to claw away from the bottom of the Football League.

This week Grimsby Town FC announced the ticket prices would be slashed for Saturday's game to a fiver per person. This is to get as many in the ground on Saturday as possible and act as towns 12th man. This plea from the Fishcake is also based on getting behind the players and supporting them right from the first kick.

It showed last week at Boston that getting behind them and showing our support helped Town to secure one of their biggest away wins for many years. It was also pleasing to see such a good performance from the team and prove that we have got what it takes to ensure we survive in the Football League, as the future of GTFC depends on this.

The fans last week were nothing short of magnificent in their support for our team and I can hardly remember a league match where our fans sang so loudly and passionately for Grimsby Town FC on such a vital match. As every goal went in we got louder and louder and all of a sudden the person next to you who you had never met before was hugging you as if you had known them for years, such was the passion and tension of such a big match.

This Saturday we must have the same again, the same encouragement and support, even if the match is not going our way we must continue to support them and sing until we can't sing anymore.

Lets hope we get the same performance and show our support this Saturday to ensure we get the right result. If we do I'll be back next week for another rally call!
