League Two Round-Up

IN an exciting week of football Wycombe moved level on points with Carlisle but all of the top three won to not really give us a clearer picture. At the bottom there were wins and good results as the bottom few fight to survive in the Football League!
Wycombe managed to move level on points with Carlisle after a 2-0 home win against Shrewsbury. They took the lead through Matt Bloomfield after 15 minutes but didn't seal the until late on after Russell Martin, good friend of the recently past away Mark Philo, made it two nil and send Wycombe a step closer to League One.
Another of the promotion chasing pack, Leyton Orient picked up a vital win at home to Cheltenham. New signing Paul Connor scored the only goal of the game.
At the bottom of the table Torquay and Stockport picked up impressive wins at home to Peterboro' and Oxford respectively. Also at the bottom Rushden picked up a deserved point at Lincoln. The game fished 2-2 after a last gasp equaliser from Jamie Mccombe for the Imps.
In a further bottom half clash Rochdale put three past Macclesfield to put their north west neighbours in further trouble. Also struggling Chester were again beaten 1-0 away at Darlington. Chester actually had the extra man for most of the game after Darlington's Mathis was sent off early on.
The Mariners' local rivals Boston were hammered 5-0 at the hands of Mansfield in a game that saw the Lincolnshire club hand the game on a plate to Mansfield. Boston manager Steve Evans was understandably unhappy at a result that sees his club move into 15th position.
Inconsistent Bristol Rovers were again beaten at home thanks to mid tablers' Notts County. In another clash in League Two Bury picked up a decent nil-nil away to Wrexham.
This concludes this week's roundup in League Two and we still only have a foggy idea which teams will go up and who will go down!
