Russell Slade Praises His Players

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 28/11/2005

RUSSELL Slade praised his players today for their performance against Oxford United. In particular he spoke of Michael Reddy. "What Reddy is doing for the team is fantastic."

Talking to the Grimsby Telegraph Slade continued; "His work rate is phenomenal and he gives us an outlet with his pace and he creates chances for us. Hopefully he can keep his form going because he's been a revelation."

"It's pleasing to see so many contributing - even in the scoring charts with a few on five and a couple on four."

"I thought Parky did very well with his first touch for his goal because the ball was slightly behind him and he finished really well."

"I don't care whether they had 10 players on the pitch or 14, Paul Bolland's strike for the second goal was worthy of winning any game. It was still rising as it hit the net."

We looked as if we wrapped it up with Gary's (Cohen) goal at 3-1."

".…Every game is a big game for us!…."

Slade commenting on the forthcoming Rochdale game said each game his side plays will be vital if they are to maintain a challenge at the top.

He said: "We seem to be rising to the occasion right now. The Rochdale game is a big game for us but if we want to stay in the top three then every game is going to be big for us."
