TOWN'S reserve side thumped their Barnsley counterparts 4-1 at Oakwell this afternoon in the Pontins Holiday's League Cup.

Isaiah Rankin put the Tykes in front just before half-time, before Town re-emerged from their half time break a new side. Darren Mansaram levelled the scores, Rowan added a second, Town boss Paul Groves gave himself a welcome break from recent pressure by adding a third, and Darren Mansaram sealed a glorious afternoon for the reserves by scoring a fourth goal, and his second of the afternoon.

Forgotten midfielder Graham Hockless was the man of the match, having a hand in at least two of the goals.

Town: Hughes, Hyams, Young, Groves, Wheeler, Ford, Hockless, Hildred, Rowan (Bolder 77), Mansaram, Anderson.
Subs: Heggarty, Howard.
