Question of the Week

Who will win League 2?

Same Again! - Groves

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 14/02/2003

PAUL Groves has urged his players to give him the same performance as they gave last week against Stoke City." Keep that up and we won't go down," he said.

Talking to Sruart Rowson of the Grimsby Telegraph Groves added, "If we can reproduce that sort of performance at Gillingham then I think we can go there with confidence and with a good chance of getting a result."

"We set a good standard last week and that's what we've got to maintain to stay in this division. That win was a massive lift and we were able to put out what was virtually our strongest side."

Groves intends to keep Cooke and Thompson in the team for tomorrow's game saying; "There where some very big performances from people. We haven't seen that much of Thommo, Pouts has been out for five weeks and Cookey had one of the best games he's ever had."

"Thommo made that much of an effort in that game that he was still sore and stiff in training on Tuesday. They've earned the right to stay in the team. I just want the same again."

"The unsung heroes like Gally, Macca and Stuart Campbell put in their usual consistent performances."

"It was definitely nice for Danny Coyne not to be man-of-the-match for once!"
