Forest Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 22/09/2000

The Mariners go into tomorrow's game at Blundell Park minus Steve Livingstone, but with both Alan Pouton and Kevin Donovan added to the squad after their respective recoveries from calf and foot injuries. Handyside may also continue his recovery programme with a substitute appearance most likely

The game will see the return to Blundell Park of former striker and fans' favourite Jack Lester in the colours of Nottingham Forest. Jack Lester was the hero of the equivalent fixture last year which the Mariners won 4-3, with Forest having two players sent off.

On-loan Leicester midfielder Stuart Campbell should make his home debut for Town with manager Lennie Lawrence having a number of options in the formation deployed.

The manager is keeping the starting line up close to his chest but Lawrence's preference appears to be the wing back system, and with most players available that is most likely to be the system adopted against Forest.

The likely pairing up front is Clare and Allen, in Livingstone's absence, with Jeffrey having to settle for a place on the bench.

Town (from): Coyne, Raven, Groves, Bloomer, McDermott, Campbell, Coldicott, Butterfield, D Smith, Allen, Clare, Donovan, Pouton, Black, Jeffrey,Handyside, Gallimore, Croudson.
