Carling Cup Draw

THE draw for the Carling Cup First Round takes place on Wednesday June 21st at 12pm. Town are guaranteed to face one of the seeded teams in the Northern Section, some of whom are their biggest rivals. Should they get through Round One, the Premiership clubs then enter the competition.
Last year Grimsby enjoyed a successful Carling Cup run, defeating Tottenham and narrowly losing to Newcastle, and two matches at Blundell Park were shown live on Sky TV which provided a much-needed cash boost.
Grimsby will face one of the following sides in Round One:
1 Sunderland
2 Preston North End
3 Leeds United
4 Wolverhampton Wanderers
5 Stoke City
6 Leicester City
7 Burnley
8 Hull City
9 Sheffield Wednedsay
10 Derby County
11 Barnsley
12 Crewe Alexandra
13 Huddersfield Town
14 Nottingham Forest
15 Doncaster Rovers
16 Oldham Athletic
17 Bradford City
18 Scunthorpe United
