TOWN will have to do without the services of Tom Newey and Martin Butler for Tuesday's game with Doncaster in the Johnston's Paint Trophy. Newey is suspended and Butler is cup tied for the Third Round game in the Northern Section.

Midfielders Paul Bolland and Danny Boshell are also doubts for the game on Tuesday having both taken knocks in the cup clash with Carlisle. Striker Isaiah Rankin (back) is still a few days off a return to match contention.

With the success of Alan Buckley's new 3-5-2 formation in Saturday's game with Carlisle, the Town boss will be tempted to continue with the new system despite the absence of two players. If so the main choice he will have to make is who should partner Gary Jones up front, with North, Taylor and Jarman all competing for a place.

Buckley may select the following team: Barnes; Bennett Whittle Fenton; Clarke Bolland Hunt Boshell Hegarty; North Taylor. If Bolland or Boshell do not make it then Till or Toner will probably go into midfield.

JPT holders Doncaster are forced into several changes for the match at Blundell Park, which kicks off at 19:30 and sees reduced ticket prices around the whole ground (as does the FA Cup replay next week with Carlisle). Defender Gareth Roberts is ruled out with a groin problem and midfielder Jason Price (hamstring) is doubtful.

Midfielder Brian Stock (back), striker Mark McCammon (hamstring) and James Coppinger (calf) are all also doubtful.

Long term absentees Paul Heffernan (wrist), Kevin Horlock (shoulder) and Graeme Lee (knee) all remain out of contention.

Striker Lewis Guy and midfielders Steve Roberts and Mark Wilson will all be hoping to return to make the starting line-up.

Doncaster, who are on an eight match unbeaten run, last travelled to Blundell Park in 1990 when they lost a Division Four game 2-1. In the same season they also lost at Blundell Park in the FA Cup, but knocked Town out of the equivalent of the Johnston's Paint Trophy at Belle Vue.
