Midfielder Signs!

THE Mariners have signed former Colchester midfielder Thomas Pinault. The 22-year-old Frenchman was attracting the interest of several clubs, including Dundee United and Northampton, but elected to join Russell Slade's team ahead of them, signing a one year contract with Town.
After five years at Layer Road, who Pinault joined from French club Cannes, the out of contract attacking midfielder went to Dundee United for a trial, but was not offered a contract at Tannadice Park.
Meanwhile, Stockport County have denied that their defender Rob Jones has joined Town on trial. It was widely reported that the Hatters defender was to feature for Town in tonight's Lincolnshire Senior Cup clash at Blundell Park. It is not known whether Pinault will feature in this game, but he is expected to be at least present at the ground.
