Question of the Week

Where will Grimsby finish?

David Beharall Says "Nothing We Can't Handle"

By: Bill Osborne
Date: 24/08/2001

"WE'VE got Jevvo and Jonny Rowan up front and they look very dangerous as a pair. Not too many people have heard of them yet, but they will have by the end of the season." So said David Berahall today talking about the coming fixture against Preston tomorrow.

Talking to Stuart Rowson of the Grimsby Telegraph, Beharall oozed confidence in stating that "We have nothing to fear" despite the impressive lineup of Preston players who will be gracing the turf of Blundell Park including Jon Macken and David Healy.

Beharall has played against Healy more than once and was a loan player at Preston last season so he can be expected to know something about the opposition.

"I played a couple of games for them, but it was at right back and I want to play in the middle," said Beharall. They kept in touch but nothing really came of it.

"It will be a tough game tomorrow and they've got two good strikers.

I've played against Healy a few times and I'm looking forward to the challenge. I saw Macken in those two games last year and he looked sharp and strong, but it's nothing we can't handle."

On Gallacher his old Newcastle team-mate he said, "I know him quite well from Newcastle and he can be a bit of a handful. But confidence is high and if we can keep another clean sheet we can beat them with the crowd on our side.
