Hyde v Grimsby Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 06/11/2012

SHAUN Pearson is available after a one match suspension against Tamworth, but the centre back is by no means certain to regain his place. Ian Miller came in on Saturday and helped Town to another clean sheet and three more away points.

Miller also featured in the 2-1 win at Tamworth, his only other appearance of the season, and scored the winning goal, so has done well on both occasions he has been needed. Pearson's last game for Town was the 1-0 defeat at home to Macclesfield so it won't be an easy decisions for the managers to make over which of the two defenders starts.

Town are otherwise not expected to make any changes from the side which beat Tamworth 1-0 on Saturday.

Hyde started the season poorly after their promotion from the Blue Square North last season, but their results have improved in recent weeks. The Manchester club have won their last two league games against Cambridge and Tamworth, although they lost in the FA Cup after a replay to Harrogate. They didn't play at the weekend so will have benefited from a few days extra rest than Town.

Hyde's star player is former Mariner Phil Jevons. The 33-year-old is top sorer for the Tigers on 7, and scored both goals in the recent win over Tamworth. Evertonian Jevons is best remembered for his stunning extra time goal at Anfield in the League Cup in 2001.
