Aswad Thomas Joins Town

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 05/07/2012

LEFT back Aswad Thomas has joined the Mariners from Braintree Town. The former Woking defender has signed a two year deal at Blundell Park for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old Londoner started his career in the capital with Charlton. After a few loan spells, he left Charlton without playing a game, and joined Woking, then in the Conference South. When Woking lost in the play-offs in 2011 Thomas jumped ship and joined BSS champions Braintree, who had moved up to the top division. He played against Grimsby in the two league games last season.

Thomas played 43 games for Braintree last season, who made an impressive debut in the Conference.
