Grimsby v Braintree Team News

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 02/03/2012

GRIMSBY will welcome back several cup-tied players to their squad as they aim to bounce back from the FA Trophy defeat to York. The main thrust of the season was always to secure a top 5 finish and Town need three points against Braintree to stay on track.

Louie Soares is likely to start on the left wing as Frankie Artus (knee) is still injured. Soares has waited over a month to get the chance to make his debut since signing from Hayes at the end of January. The weather and the FA Trophy have restricted the Barbados international's opportunities to don a Town shirt for the first time.

Scott Garner (knee) and Anthony Church (ankle) have both been struggling with knocks but Town are hoping they will be fit in time.

Another possible player who could be returning is Ian Miller, who was cup-tied and could not play against York. But Anthony Elding is still suspended for his "gesture" against Lincoln.

Town will be looking to gain revenge on a Braintree side who thrashed Grimsby in the second game of the season.
