Panther Signs for Town

By: Rob Sedgwick
Date: 10/11/2011

ALDERSHOT midfielder Manny Panther has joined Town on loan until the end of the year, as a replacement for the outgoing Anthony Church who yesterday was loaned to Alfreton for the same period. Panther has been given permission to play in the FA Cup against Port Vale by the Shots.

27-year-old Panther has spent most of his career playing as a defensive holding-type midfielder, and doubtless has been signed to try and strengthen the Grimsby midfield and help stop Town leaking goals. Although the Scot hasn't played for Aldershot yet this season, he played 23 times for the Hampshire outfit last season, which sufficiently impressed Crawley to try unsuccessfully to buy him. Panther has chalked up over 200 starts in his career to date.

Panther has played in England for Aldershot, Morecambe, Rushden, Exeter and York and in Scotland for Brechin, Partick and St Johnstone.
