Next Manager Update

GARY Brabin has emerged as the leading candidate to be the next Grimsby manager in the latest betting market. Bookies Victor Chandler have revised their odds reflecting where the money is going, and the former Cambridge and Southport manager, now assisstant at Luton heads the pack.

Three other candidates are among a quartet of favourites. Darlington manager Mark Cooper, ex-Notts County boss Craig Short, and ex-Bristol Rovers manager and former Town player Paul Trollope. Of these only Brabin and Cooper seem to meet the board's crtiteria of a "Conference specialist".

Of the remaining candidates the only names being seriously touted are Brian Laws and Gateshead boss Ian Bogie.

Gary Brabin 1/1
Mark Cooper 2/1
Craig Short 4/1
Paul Trollope 4/1
Brian Laws 9/1
Martin Foyle 10/1
Martin Allen 12/1
Paul Hurst/Rob Scott 12/1
David Moore 12/1
Paul Groves 12/1
Peter Jackson 14/1
Micky Mellon 14/1
Mark Proctor 14/1
Ian Bogie 14/1
