Injury List 18/01

By: Peter Forrester
Date: 18/01/2002

TOWN PHYSIO Paul Mitchell is in danger of being without a job soon under Peter Furneaux's cutbacks as the injury list is getting shorter by the week with only four players now remaining under his care!

John McDermott - Galli will have to hand over the captain's armband to Macca when the club's record appearance holder returns soon from a serious calf injury. The right back is reported to be in contention for the Rotherham game, and to boost this opportunity the the Middlesborough-born defender will be in action for the reserves next week.

Stacy Coldicott - expect the tough midfielder back for the Crewe game.

Alan Pouton - the ex-York midfielder was a relieved man (along with the fans) to find out the break to his ankle did not damage any ligaments which would have put him out for a long time but thankfully the Geordie is on the comeback trail, gaining fitness every day. Expect the influential man to be back mid February. His tough nature will be welcomed in what is going to be a tough last few months for the Mariners.

Steve Livingstone - Robert Taylor is "filling the shoes" of Livvo for a month but Grovesie might consider extending the loan longer as the original big man of Grimsby may only be back for the last month of the season. He is on the road to recovery though and is a welcome sight at the training ground.
