Handyside Stays

Lennie Lawrence has done a u-turn on his decision earlier this week to offer central defender Peter Handyside on loan to a lower division club. The Grimsby manager announced in public that after last night's game (in which Handyside played for 90 minutes), he has changed his mind.

Lawrence was keen to get Handyside back to full match fitness, and saw a loan spell as the best way to achieving that, until last night when the former Scottish under 21 international turned in a brilliant display against Wolves. An honest Lawrence today said: "I don't think we need worry about Peter now. He's not going on loan anywhere now because there is no need for him too. The loan is off - he'll get games with us."
